Labor
This month has been quite the crazy month. I started off with the flu or food poisoning. This put me in the hospital for the first time. I was so dehydrated from throwing up all day that I started getting contractions. The hospital was great they put me on an iv and sent me on my way home feeling much better.
Two weeks later it was Monday afternoon (August 9th) I started to not feel very well. We went up the canyon with my family for family night and I started contracting. Chase and I went back home and I got in bed, then the tub, drank tons of water, hoping the contractions would go away. At about 1:00am we finally went to the hospital. I was dilated to a 3 and fully efaced. They gave me this crazy medicine to stop the contractions it made me all shaky. They also gave me a steroid shot to help Dallis's lungs develop faster just in case she came early. They sent us home after 3 hours and put me on bed rest.
The next day I was feeling much better (although bed rest is the worst!) I sat and watched tv and that's about it. I could only get up to use the bathroom. At about 10:00pm my contractions started up again. We had to go to the hospital anyway for a second steroid shot so I had them check my contractions again. I was still at a 3 and fully effaced. This was good news and me and chase were sure we would be going home. The doctor decided to keep me over night though. So we were moved to the labor and delivery room and had a fun sleepover at the hospital. In the morning I was still at a 3 so they let me go home at 5:00pm still on bed rest.
After we got home on Wednesday I was feeling much better they sent me home with medicine to take every 6 hours that would stop the contractions. I went to bed and at 2:00am Thursday morning woke up in tons of pain. I got in the tub, took more medicine, watched friends, ate food, but nothing would stop them. At 6:30 we finally decided we better go to the hospital.
I was dilated to a 4 so they observed me for an hour and then was dilated to a 5. They moved me to the labor and deliver room and told me she was coming! :) It was scary but exciting at the same time. She was barely 34 weeks that day so they let me stay at the American Fork hospital to deliver her.
